ericmitchell: I ran Koni Reds on this car forever and just wanted to try something new. I see lots running Reds but very few on clutch assisted stick cars. I'm hoping the little bit of support from the 90/10s will make gear changes a more forgiving.
Denz I need to get down to my race weight in the next week or two. lol On my end the HG scare was the car ran with low coolant long enough I got paranoid. It was down enough power initially that we thought maybe it was an issue. Friday night I pumped all the pump gas out to swap to C16 and the pump overheated and died. I added the race fuel and let it set a while plus beat on the tank to start the car. It acted normal after that. The fuel pump isnt the end of the world as it was just stolen from my white car. I'm hoping to build a solid fuel system in the next week or two.

Matt, have spoke with couple guys that said they have picked up a few numbers (high HP one gear change) switching to a double adjustable front strut where they can control the front end from bouncing. Just food for Thought since it goes through a couple more gear changes, and I read where you're gonna run some points stuff this year Be curious to test with anyway!

Yeah The Konis are still sitting here. I'm really wanting to mess around with that stuff but I'm not too concerned with it until I can test them legitimately.

Wow time for an update. Last night was the 2nd outing for the black car after the first ran a lackluster 8.22@85. A few things got changed in the tune and there was a boost control issue so I ran last night with the wastegate hooked directly to boost source which made 15-16psi. Wes also made a few software changes that I dont really know what they mean. First run launch at 6k pedaled 5 times shifted easy for a 7.88@93 and popped out of 3rd gear. I was laughing like a big goober because I was shooting for 7.40s at that boost. I thought I would hit it the next run. Second pass still 16psi went 7.15@102 with a 1.65 60'. Spinning like crazy still but it sort of pulled it self through. Shifted harder. For those unfamiliar with 1/8 numbers thats 10.9x@128ish Third pass went 7.19@103 with a 1.79 60' (thats real bad) but can not believe the mph. I have yet to have a 100% perfect pass with the trans but Theres likely a tenth just in that portion of driving. Fourth the only change on the laptop at all was I lowered launch rpm, which turned into magic I guess because it made it way nastier and had a 2.20 60'. Went out about 300' and pulled itself over to the right. Shut it down and still went 8.28@69. I'm absolutely floored at how it runs, so much so that I have no intentions of turning it up all until it goes 6.8x at the current tune-up. I wanted a sub 6.50 car, it hasnt done it and has a long way to go but I feel its in there. Ill have all the videos uploaded today. I fell asleep sitting up waiting on them last night.

That speed shows theres enough power to run 6.40's. I'm gonna start on a car to run the 6.90 index at my local track soon.

Ive certainly seen 6.40s at 103-104 in this kind of car....but thats alot faster that I ever ever would have guessed so I'm shooting for 6.75s lol

lol thats funny to look back on. For a quick update I've now been 6.43@106.4 and had a best 60' of 1.39. I'll update this as I get time.

By the amount of air under the tires, I guess your diet got you down to race weight! :-)

We changed fuel from C12 to Q16 so may have to tweak the tune a little. That run was about as clean as it could have been for me, nice smooth low wheelie and hit the shifts exactly where I wanted them to be.

You're doing a great job Matt. I can't wait to see the results at St. Louis and wish we could be there. Keep up the good work!
