Why did you have to cut the whole piece out?

There are a few really big holes so I would have been putting several patches in no matter what. Plus there were a bunch of small holes other than the bigger ones. By doing the big section, I cut out & replace all the open space in one shot and the weld would be closer to contours where it is easier to hide. I also curved the patch so the middle stuck out a little which put the welds in a small valley. Another thing is that with a smooth surface on the backside its easier to mount things that have to go back on like the methanol kit.

Nice job on that patch. That engine compartment is really looking good.

I'm not. Stinger is going to weld the doors on after I get in. I have a feeling that once its done I probably will have no reason to get out. I still have some work left but at least I was able to get some color on it.

At some point you may have to take pics with something other than your phone...

Ha! I think with the net window you could probably squeeze a cheese burger through and maybe a bottle of water, but a soda would deffinitly spill!

Yeah the fact that nothing fits through it is just fine. The part thats not so great is the cage is a little low in the car, the halo is even lower and close to center, the window net goes to the inside of that so it really tightened up the amount of space available. Its been a problem before about seeing over the hood during the run but this time I wont be able to really see anywhere.
