My car idles at 1400-1500 and its really annoying.. and there is a miss that i think is a lean miss. i have the fuel ve set so my wb stays 13.5-14.5 and when it misses it jumps into the 15's. it will smooth out if i add fuel to get it into the 12's. ive tried 16 deg of timing at idle and it was rough so im at 25 right now. no iac. how should i go about setting my idle to 1k? idle screw, timing, fuel.. where to start?

As stated on our fuel tuning sticky thread, you tune the idle AFR to where the engine is happy, not to where you "think" the AFR should be. I try to aim for the leanest AFR I can run that still results in a smooth idle. Bigger cams like richer idle WB readings because the cam's overlap skews the WB readings. You'll need to adjust idle speed via the idle screw. Since you don't have an IAC, I wouldn't suggest going below 1000 rpm. 1100-1200 will be smoother and less likely to die when you push in the clutch and release the throttle and it will be easier to drive without stalling.

thanks ill give that a try when im off work, I read the guide, I have a stock cam but my motor is happy with about 12.3-12.5 afr at idle.. i thought that was rich but ill leave it at that.

Assuming your wideband is reading properly, I'd expect it to want something more like 14:1 but every engine is different. As long as it doesn't burn your eyes to stand behind the car when idling, it's not "too" rich where it would wash the cylinder walls down.
