New engine that has never been started. MS2 setup to run sequential. Cam sensor is the "distributor" type Cardone unit. 36-1 crank trigger. LS2 coils, GM IAT and CTS.
This is a Wilson MS and supposedly it has a base tune to start the engine. I have included the .msq file that I have when I connected it to the laptop. I have checked for spark, good spark. No spits or sputters when cranking.
Vac line on AFPR is unhooked and it only reads 20# on the gauge when the pump runs or the engine is cranking. I assume this may go up when it idles?? I was trying to adjust to 40-43# base pressure but it doesn't change. No idea here except maybe it's not running long enough to rise.
Engine is 2.3 with a ranger crank (2.5 stroker), boport 2.1 cam and big valve kit, split scroll header, Holset HX35, 85# injectors, 60mm throttle body, Zeitronix wideband.
I would love some assistance if possible and will be reading over all the "basic, try this" threads too. Hopefully the .msq file posts. If not please let me know.

It should easily be able to make 40+ psi with the pump running for the typical 2 seconds at power on. What is the fuel system (excrutiating detail here).
I would still expect some "signs of life" after an extended cranking period though.

Fuel was one problem. I wasn't able to get the new lines and filters to prime. I have that under control now. Pressure is steady at 40# and the plugs get wet. I'm able to get cough and spits out of it now. No rumbles or short bursts of running. I checked my engine timing to make sure where it sat. Everything is straight up 0 degrees TDC #1. The crank sensor is set two teeth counter clockwise from the -1 missing tooth. I don't know how to tell if the squirt is set properly for the sensor position. I know typically the sensor is 9 teeth away from the missing making it 90 degrees. I have a feeling this is a big problem but I can't verify yet. Thanks for the reply Wes.

From what I'm seeing in the megamanual regarding EDIS, my sensor should be 9 teeth or 90 degrees ahead of the missing tooth. I'm two teeth or 20 degrees now. Would it be best to cut a keyway on the 36-1 wheel to position it 9 teeth ahead or can this be adjusted in the squirt?

Are you sure Scott is doing things the same on the board as the megamanual expects?

Absolutely not! I'm not sure of anything inside the box or with the tune loaded. I'm also very EFI ignorant but am trying to wrap my head around a lot of the basics.

Well, the "assumption" would be that the base tune was configured properly for the ignition system you've got. With it not functioning as expected though, it may not have been. Only Scott knows how its setup on the board though.
Have you checked for spark and proper spark timing with a timing light?

Ran out of time yesterday but I will get a timing light on it either today or tomorrow.

I will check timing with a light first to try and see where it sits as programmed now. I have a feeling it is way off since the "tooth #1 angle" is set at 90 degrees. My crank sensor is dead on top of the second tooth past the missing tooth. According to my reading and understanding my tooth angle #1 should be set to 10 degrees. If timing seems way off initially I will change this setting and re-try. Here is where I have been reading: www.msextra.com/doc/ms2extra/MS2-Extra_Miss_Tooth.htm

Got it started and running today. A lot of tuning to do and I'm sure a lot more headaches. It at least runs now. Thanks for all the help.
