Well, I spun half way through third once which isn't all that far from the 1/8 mile mark...

Awesome car sir! How are you liking the alum head? I wonder how a stage 4 boport with an engle cam would do on the street? ;D

The aluminum head is fine. Doesn't make any significant amount of power over a Stage 3 or 4 from Bo. You'd be much better off with a cam from Bo than an Engle cam that was designed in the 80's though. This SVO drives around perfect on the street.

If he has yet to buy a cam I would recommend one of Bo's. If he has the engle roller cam (the one everybody calls as my cam), I would just run it. I haven't seen anybody (either my rx7 or mustang) make more power at a given boost level than my setup (my rx-7 has an almost stock head, and makes 290 rwhp at 18psi). In my mustang I made 390rwhp @23 psi, with an amatuer ported BV head. The engle roller works just fine if you already have it.

I agree if it's the grind you run and not some old grind. I guess I just assumed it was one of the old grinds.

A friend of mine gave me an awesome deal on a alum essy head with the 2277 cam. I am definitely excited.. I just had one question for you.. I am gonna be getting my svo painted/assembled around february or march sometime. I'm gonna need a standalone ecu, and i really want to wait for a pimp. If I keep the boost really really low, would it be possible to use the la3 and 36 lb brow top injectors until I get my pimp and bigger injectors? I have looked into the quarterhorse, But I would much rather have the pimp for sure..

There is no reason you can't use an LA3/35lb injectors with low boost (10psi or less).

Lets get this car on the road again! ha, just trying to give you some motivation. One question, you were able to run 22 degrees and 25 psi?? I suppose it is factory compression but man that seems up there. Is this still the current build on the svo?

Still current and still torn apart.
No on the 22 degrees and 25psi...at least not on pump gas. Should be more in the 18-19 degree range at 25psi.

That sounds a bit more normal, little on the agressive side but doable. Whats holding you back on getting the car back on the road? Is this your only 2.3t car?

What's holding me back? Mostly motivation. It's difficult to work on 2.3T parts all day and then convince yourself to go back to the shop and work on more 2.3T stuff after hours, especially with no one around to help out/motivate.
