Good point. I'll replace the PIP first and see if the problem goes away. If not, then I'll do the ICM.

Yeah, that will do it.
So is the gear moving on the shaft (sheared pin) or is the slop coming from somewhere else?

The gear is fine -- roll pin still in place. The weld, or whatever attaches the vane mounting plate to the shaft at the top, has failed, likely due to nearly 30 years of galvanic corrosion (dissimilar metals in contact). I get a couple of degrees of free play, as you saw in the video. Had I not yanked the dizzy and started to take it apart, I would have never found this problem. I did notice that the timing bounced around a bit when I set it. Now I know why. This has been one of the more tricky problems I've ever encountered.
