New motor is in now what I'm overwhelmed anyone else done this swap before?
Hello, I have a 96 Ford Ranger 2.3 Swapping to 86 thunderbird turbo 2.3 I know nothing is going to be easy, but have you heard anything about this swap? Your forum has something but I don't know if the years of both my cars are going to work together. Help? Will your pimp computer plug and play or can I just re-pin the computer . Wiring is different from what you have posted

The Ranger swapped to OBD-2 in mid-96 so first we have to figure out if your Ranger is OBD-1 (60 pin ECU connector) or OBD-2 (100 pin connector). After you figure that out, report back and I'll let you know what's up.

PiMP won't work with OBD-2 stuff, completely different ECU connector (60 pin vs 100 pin).
The OBD-2 tuning options are handheld stuff like SCT, Diablosport, etc.

There is no reason to not know if it's OBD-2 or not. Look a the ECU connector, is it 100 pins or 60? Or see if there is an OBD-2 port under the dash to scan for codes and such.
You have everything you need but the tuner. Put the turbo block with the Ranger head/intake/ignition system in to the truck, buy a handheld tuner, upgrade injectors, MAF, fuel pump, etc. and you're ready to start tuning (or pay someone to tune since the handheld stuff is quite complicated when doing in-depth stuff).
