Hello, I'm new to the turbo 4. I just picked up a 84 svo with 150k on it and it appears that the turbo is cooked(car is smoking like a fright train) I picked up a low mile 85 turbo coupe motor with the water cooled turbo. I was wondering if it would be smarter to do a motor swap vrs just swapping the turbo? What would be the pros and cons of this?

If you feel like the TC engine is in better condition then it's fine to swap it if you want, just make sure you use the correct injector/air meter as the SVO and TC used different ones depending on their build dates. There are brown (35lb) and green (30lb) injectors, and large (3+") and small (2.5") air meters. The SVO should have a large air meter and green injectors. The TC will have a small air meter and could have either injector (green for early 85, brown for late 85).

I have both sets of injectors. I have both ECMs. I only have the SVO air meter.
What would be the best set up to run?

No combination of those parts is the best available stock combo but the SVO stuff needs to be used since you've got an intercooler and that ECU is configured for an intercooler (and that ECU requires the SVO sized injectors/air meter).
