I am not going to play innocent/coy by pretending I haven't already bought the TB and adapter plate (they just haven't been delivered yet) but....
I am wondering if the 87-93 5.0 throttle body is going to work on my Ron Francis wired SVO and which components I should use. I found a TB on eBay and made the purchase only because BigRMotorsports offers a adapter plate for that style TB. What I am really trying to figure out is if I need to purchase a 5.0 IAC and TPS specific to that TB or will I be able to use the 88 TC IAC and TPS that are currently on my stock TB?
Ashamedly, I did made the purchase before doing any research about this because of the availability of the adapter plate and assumed that the type of TB used was just a matter of preference and availability of TB's. Upon further digging for answers about the components, I have seen some comments/concerns about the hood clearance of the IAC (due to its location) on the 5.0 TB. Is this going to be a problem that will render the TB I purchased useless?
Overall I am now doing my research AFTER my purchase and want to know if I:
A) should buying the 5.0 components in preparation for the arrival of the new setup B) will be good with the components I already have on my car or C) am going to have to completely start over with an SN95 setup.
I do know I will have to open up the upper intake to properly experience the benefits of the larger TB :-)
Thanks as always for any help anyone can provide.

The adapter is for the SN95 throttle body, not the 87-93 unit. The 87-93 unit has a different bolt pattern, IAC in the wrong place, etc.
The SN95 unit uses a different throttle body plug than the older stuff. IAC is the same connector.

Thanks for the reply. This is the adapter I was referring to: bigrmotorsports.com/60mm_70mm_75mm_Throttlebody_Adapter.htmlHe states in the description is for the square 87-93 5.0 Throttle body But from what I am gathering from your first paragraph, the position of the IAC is a def problem, right? Again I can find all of this out when the TB shows up. I know if it did fit, it def would be close. I am now curious as to why he would offer it for a 2.3 if it won't fit, except for the case of a ranger swap or a fox with a cowl hood.

I wasn't aware he had two different adapter versions.
I have no experience with that one, I just know people ran the SN95 TB because the earlier one didn't work.
It actually won't even clear a cowl hood in anything but stock intake rotation because the intake is actually wider than the cowl so it hits the corner of the scoop where the cowl starts to rise above the stock hood area. So as you stated, it seems like it would only work for Rangers, or you'd have to do an extra short rotated upper intake to take into account the IAC height.
