So I'm very interested in picking up the Detail Zone wiring harness (PM-65) designed specifically for use with the PimpX, and I had a few questions. I have no problem calling their support number if need be, but wanted to check in here first. Here goes:
1. Stupidly, I did not take the EEC Power Relay when I pulled the LA3 and OEM harness from the donor Turbocoupe. If I purchase the DZ Pimp harness, will this not be a problem since it includes a "Relay Center"? 2. To fit the piping for my FMIC, I moved the alternator to the passenger side with a Ranger bracket. I still haven't decided if I'll use a standard Ranger alt (95 amps), or if I could benefit from a 130A alt from an Explorer...either way, does the connector provided in the harness hook up to this style of alternator, or is it possible modifications may have to be made here? (FWIW the Ranger alt I picked up from the junkyard has three connectors on the back - a 3 pin gray connector, a single pin gray connector, and a threaded terminal... sorry for my ignorance on this one.) 3. What needs to be done (if anything) with connectors/leads for components I don't have? (e.g. A/C Comp Signal, Overboost lead) 4. I'm not sure what to do with the VSS lead on the Detail Zone harness. Does the PimpX require to see a signal from it? As far as I know, the C4 auto I've had rebuilt used a mechanical driven gear attached to the speedo cable, which was attached to the back of the speedometer gauge.
Thanks in advance, Steve

1) You're fine 2) It only includes the "exciter" wire as the rest of the alt wiring isn't integrated into any harness anyway. 3) PiMPx doesn't use those items so the harness doesn't have leads for them anyway. 4) VSS is not required for ECU function. It's only used for speed based functions (boost by gear, traction control, etc.).
