my TC with a completely stock IHI turbo with the wastegate vacuum line routed straight to the manifold sees 14.5 psi. at 16 psi it super heats the air coming into the engine and makes it knock. it would hit 200 degrees by the time I was in third gear wide open. I tried to pull timing to eliminate the knock, but was unsuccessful. I found that 14.5 is the lowest I can turn the boost down. I take it back, it would hit 11.5 psi and hold. But as I dialed in the timing curve the turbo lag was completely gone and the boost climbed to 14.5 and my IAT's or (MAT) was down to 130 degrees at the top of third gear. The change I made to the timing curve made the turbo spool instantly and made the boost climb higher with out changing the vacuum to the wastegate, I just left it direct to the manifold.
