I went for a drive in the Thunderbird the other day now that is all pretty much tuned and runs good. I wanted to try to take off from a stop through 3rd gear. Well clutch slipped very bad in 2nd gear. So now it’s time to change the clutch. I am thinking Stage 2+ with my mods should be good but maybe a Stage 3. I was really leaning more towards the 2+ for the drivability. But I will take the car to the track every now and then but mostly on the street. So I’m kind of stuck between those two. Just wondering which would be better? And also can I use the stock flywheel with the new clutch or is it going to be too worn out. I assume the clutch and flywheel have never been changed and it’s been 160,000 miles. Do I need to get a new flywheel or will the old one work just fine?

The 2+ is likely fine.
If you use the stock flywheel you'll need to have it surfaced. This is standard for any clutch change.

Could I just buy a new flywheel? Shops want about $100 and I can buy a new one on rockauto for about $50?

You can. Just note it's a Chinese flywheel and lower quality than the stock unit.
Autozone typically has the flywheel grinding machine in the back to do it rather cheap.

Finally got around to getting the flywheel off. I noticed it has some slight cracks around it. I googled it to see if it would be ok after resurfacing and some say yes and some say no. Just wondering what your thoughts on this were

If they are small surface cracks like you see on brake rotors then it's fine as long as none of them are deep.
