Well after 16 years of racing on oval tracks from dirt to payvement I'm building a new type
of race car,
I'M building a 1987 Ford Tempos 2 door 5 speed for 1/8 and 1/4 mile tracks and I will do some road course track days too , the car is far from readdy I still have a ton of work to do to it . but after waiting so long to post some pics I will post them now , I hope you all love it .
here is the engine spects after I have done rebuilding it .
1988 Ford Thunderbird turbo coupe
2.3T stock block " to start with "
new rings
new bearing
new gaskets
and cleaning and paint .
a stage 1 head porting job
the cam will be a just over stock lift and duration like a stage 1
better injector and fuel pump 255lph
tweecer chip to program my stock tc ecu
I will be running 18 to 22psi of boost
my goal is 250hp to 260hp
I would love to run on the 1/4 mile at 12.99sec that would be my goal for the first year with the car.
Tranny all gears have been cryoed to take the added power of the turbo engine
final gears are 3.33 to 1 / I have a 3.73 to 1 set that I may drop in over the summer
if I don't like my times , and I have a phatom grip diff instaled in this tranny should help me out
of the gate.
the car with driver is 2400lbs so that is light but I need to do a bit more trimming on it
I would love to take 100 lbs or 200 lbs more off the car but that will only come after all the rest is done getting it running and on the track is more important at this time.
I have taken a ton of pics but I will post a few of them so I hope you like my project, its different
and should do good times on the track.
for road racing I will be using almost the same set up has for drag but different tires and the shock set up.
and lower boost.
THANK YOU JASON turboj74 You Rock
