Do any of you valve train gurus have any experience with crooked c cam grinds? The 2.3 roller cam lobe faces are ground PARALLEL to its axis, correct?
Using an ebar to check an aftermarket cam, I noticed that the bar did not sit squarely on both lobes. Either finds full contact with the exhaust, OR the intake.
Getting side loading on my exhaust valves, and the contact points on the valve tips are off center, sideways, toward the front of the engine. The wear pattern in the valve train is consistent with the force I’m imagining coming from the follower- consistent with the direction of the cam lobe face angle, and consistent between all cylinders, at least as far as my limited knowledge tells me.
Intake valves all show no signs of abnormal wear.

They should be parallel to the axis.

They should be parallel to the axis. That’s what I figured. Looks like I’m getting a cam regrind! Thanks!
