So a little background on this thing.
93 ranger 4cyl t bird t5. spec 2+ clutch. 8.8 rear end with 4.10 gears Stock crank, rods, pistons with arp rod bolts and total seal rings. Bo port stage 3 ported head Bo port stage 4 cam advanced 4 degree's Custom intake manifold with 9.5 inch runners BBK 70mm throttle body MSD coil and MSD 6AL box id 1050x injectors. walbro 450 pump with 8an feed, 6 an return with a fuel lab regulator @ 42 base. precision 6262 ball bearing with the s cover and an .63 turbine housing. turbosmart 45mm wastegate with a 14 psi spring turbosmart raceport bov with factory spring. 3 inch dp to 3.5 inch exhaust. Esslinger 4in crank pulley, esslinger water pump w/pulley. Pimpx batch fire with a dizzy system. firecore 50 wires ngk tr6 iridium plugs.
On 24.5 psi it put down 476 whp @7k and 405 ft lbs @ 5200. 18ish psi, 404 whp 345 ft lbs.
I'm sure im forgetting a few things. Needless say, i backed it down to keep things together. Next up is a cam change to get it to spool below 5k and more street friendly. The 24 psi setup is on 19 degree's of timing, 11.0 afr. This is on 110 renegade fuel.
Thought i would share the long journey of this thing in the past 5 years of building it. Would it do 500+. yes. Would it live? Probably not lol

Nice! What RPM was peak HP and TQ?
What are you using for a coil and I assume you're using a CDI box of some sort?
If you go to a stage 3 cam (or a 2.5), I'll be curious to hear what the change in power is, how it changes spool, and how it effects the RPM peaks.

Peak hp was on the limiter at 7k. Peak torque was at 5200 rpms. IE Supra power band lol. Ignition is a cardone reman distributor with a motorcraft cap and rotor. MSD gen 2 coil with an MSD 6al box. I never unhooked the msd box to see if there was a difference in power. Takes all of 3 seconds to flip back to "OE".
Been talking with SVOjohn a lot on this. Changing to the .63 turbine housing yielded a softer hit than the .82, but did nothing for spool time on the decrease side of it. He is sending me a cam that he had in jesse's car that wen 9.90 on the stock head. Spool time should drop greatly and should make it more fun to drive on the streets

I doubt the ignition would still light off without the MSD box since the MSD coil isn't much better than stock. Only one way to know for sure though.
Interesting that the .63 didn't improve spool RPM but just slowed down the ramp.
Do you know the lift, duration @ .050, and LSA on that cam?

I think the lsa is 112? It's fairly low for a turbo cam. The spool time I think is more directly related to the cam itself. I have another msd coil, accel coil and a motorcraft one in the back of the bed as a just in case deal

Pretty similar to the stage 4 specs then. A little less lift, similar duration, slightly tighter LSA.
