Does the location of the VAM matter in relation to distance? If I were to place it in a different location with a little bit longer hose would it change how things work. Im trying to package all of this into a sandrail and space and mounting locations are sparse. Thanks

It doesn't really matter. It's orientation (vertical, horizontal, turned on it's side, etc.) is much more important. Eventually you'll decide to delete it either way.

Speaking from experience. You're definitely gonna want to delete the VAM. I'm running a 2.3l out of an 87 Turbo Coupe in my sandrail and I've had to replace the VAM twice. The sand Jacks it up pretty quickly. I finally just ordered the Pimp controller to get rid of it.

Yeah, they don't like sand (and some gets through filters) and they don't really like bumps either unless mounted perfectly flat so the door isn't effected by up/down movement (but it's still effected by side to side movement from bumps or driving on the sides of hills).

That would explain the sputtering when i'd hit woops to fast.

Yes, it would...or low fuel sloshing away from the pickup in the tank.
