How usefull it this mod? Worth the investment in an MSD box for the performance gains?

If you're not experiencing spark blowout then the gain is minimal. MSD's are also horribly unreliable so it's good to avoid running one when possible.

So how about wiring in the tach. That seems to be the main issue on my experience.

You have a PiMP so the tach should work fine. Do NOT use a tach adapter with a PiMP.

If using an MSD box with MSD coil, are there any changes necessary to the dwell or ignition settings?

I'm not sure what you're asking. If this is a PiMP related question (I assume so since you can't change dwell with a stock ECU), it should be in the PiMP section of the forum. All MSD info is covered in the CDI ignition section of the startup guide.

There is a CDI appendix section (has a diagram in it). It doesn't mention dwell settings because it's the same as we set up the base tune for you.
