I forgot to say, NO TRASH TALKING MY WELDS!!! I'm still new at welding, only other thing I've done is the subframe connectors, and those can't be seen so it doesn't matter they are fugly! I started trying to weld all the way across it, realised the heat was not only warping the metal filler piece, it was also blowing straight through it like no tomorrow. So I started spotting it everywhere, I may do a bot more spots before final grinding and paint.

What was the point of this modification?

To make a nice place to rest my arm and passengers arms when cruising. There was no need for the gap to be there and I thought it was ugly. Once done I'm visioning a nice smooth appearance around the window frame.

So you don't want windows? You realize you can't race it at the track without windows unless you add window nets right?

Yeah I know. I've had the window's out for a very long time. If I ever go to a track it will be an autocross course, and I'll contemplate window nets at that point.

Final (hopefully) layer of body filler applied this afternoon. I've just shaved it a little bit waiting for it to cure completely. I'll hopefully be able to pain it tomorrow. I still need to make some pieces to fill in the gap at the rear view mirror and the back of the door where the window frame turns upward. I'm thinking about filling that gap with foam and shaving it down, then making a top coat of expoxy, or possibly fiberglass. Seems it will be a little easier that way instead of using metal, and it's not necessary for it to have any strength because it's not going to be used as an arm rest.

I got my IRS today!!! Woot Woot!!! Came out of an '03 Cobra, complete with shocks springs brakes and lines even ABS parts I can sell!, I don't need anything other than the fitting to attach my brake lines to the IRS lines. It even came with a complete 2 1/2" flowmaster cat back that I can sell and try to recoup some money. I've been doing some cleaning up in the engine bay as well. I painted the intake upper and lower, and throttle body and all the hardware that goes with it. Installed the 65lb/hr injectors and painted the fuel rails. I hope to get it idling and running soon. Waiting for new throttlebody gasket and trying to figure out the paint shceme I want for the valve cover. Got a new valve cover gasket too hopefully won't spill all that oil on my nice new painted intake! I probably won't install the IRS for a month or so with a lot of other things going on outside the garage right now.

It was a blue silicon gasket from autozone. Won't work? The last cork gasket had only been on there for a few years at most and had a big tear in it already.

The blue gaskets are junk. Cork will last longer and seal better than the blue crap. The best option is the black gasket that came on Rangers and are available from Ford (or a junkyard) that have a steel support inside so it holds its shape.

What truck were you driving? Sorry I missed you. I was probably staring at the laptop trying to figure out the tune! Was it at night near Church street in Longwood area?
I'm up for a meet any time! I got the idle set with the new injectors today and hope to have the rest of the cruise RPM range set by tomorrow, just had a few minutes to cruise around the neighborhood today at low speeds.
