Huh? Do you have the hold down rings under the bolts? There should be half round plates with three holes in each one that clamp the center section and exhaust housing together.

Yeah, three hold down rings (only 2 holes in each, total of 6 bolts) all tight as I can get them. It's odd, when I replaced the bolts in the exhaust housing several months ago with new stainless hardware it fit tight and no movement noticed. Not it just turns and moves side to side.

And the bolts are still tight? I can't think of any way how that's even possible. Pics/Vid?

I can make a short vid this weekend. So long as I'm not being my normal lazy self.
The bolts are as tight as I can get them. The one that is hardest to reach is on the side near the head, bottom just next to the oil drain tube. It's tight, but hard to really crank on. All others are in solidly.

And the center section is moving relative to the exhaust housing correct?

Yes, the center will rotate clockwise and counter clockwise, and even rock a little "back and forth" from side to side. It's kind of hard to explain, I'll try and get that video this weekend.

Well I still haven't made any video on the turbo moving inside the housing... but I did make this! Removed the 2 gauges off the pillar to where the radio used to be. I started with a shiny, nicely cut 8"x3" piece of stainless I found at scrap at work. Turned into this with a plasma cutter, hammer, and some drimmel cut off wheel scars! I LOVE the way it looks!

I'm going to leave that 3rd hole just like that. I don't think I'll be putting any other gauges in and I like the way that hole looks all raw and uneven!
Oh yeah, that old fuel gauge was WAY faulty! New one reads at 60psi!!! Maybe some of the reasons the car was cutting out at high RPM's.

Ha! Those funky stripes were red, purple AND dark blue! I never found out where that came from, it wasn't an original from Ford, probably from a dealer that first sold the car. I searched for a while looking for an original seller but no luck.
