it was a lil scary, no doubt about it! i didnt try to stop it, these little four cylinder are pretty heavy. i am just glad i didnt get hurt, and it missed the rear end of the pinto by about a foot. So the 30 bucks for another compressor cover was a minimal loss.
i did, however, get the front sump oil pan, pick up, dipstick tube and oil pump in the motor today. almost ready to go!

slowly but surely... i put in the throttle cable, mocked up the radiator (the bungee cord is good for at least 5 hp) and got my vbelt setup ready to go. i really just need to install the shifter, route the cooling system, fuel system, and wiring.

Sounds like the idle speed decreased and got rougher when the spout was plugged in. This is opposite of what should happen. You sure the timing is right?

Nope, not at all. Matter of fact, i am almost positive timing is off. i am just stoked it finally shows some signs of life

thanks. i have to set the timing, bleed the brakes, and a couple other minor things, and take it for its first cruise. i have since sold most of the performance stuff, plan is for right now to just add a t3, large front mount, a wet shot, and some traction. I pretty much just plan to max out the PE and factory injectors until i get out of school. Given how light the damn thing is, i am hoping to still make it into the low 12's high 11's
