Well its been quite a long time since I posted on here. Work and school seem to get in the way of my TC. Anyway im entering my Turbo Coupe in santa clause shootout in Meridian, MS this year. Its an eighth mile track so im hoping for mid to low 7's with my current setup. Here is link to Santa Clause Shootout rules www.torqueaddicts.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14209 . My setup so far: Fuel: Walboro 255 pump 85 lb injectors Holley AFPR Management: PC1 eec Moates QuarterHorse SVO Johs SD setup with GM Map AEM wideband gauge and sensor Turbo: 50 trim t3/t4 Hogged out E6 manifold Open 2 1/4 downpipe FMIC Cam: roller setup out of a mustang coupe Head: Heavilly ported and polished ARP head studs torque 3 stages to 120 ft/lbs Short Block: Stock Clutch: Stock Other: Chucks stiff motor mounts, a/c delete, power steering delete, several other weight reductions. Wheels: Weld draglites front and back w/ M/T 275 Drag Radials on back. What other things can I do to get a few extra HP without and spending anymore money? throttle body? Porting anything else? Currently the engine is on a stand so I can still get to most everything for modifications.

I would think that the clutch would definatly be a weak link.. I personally would run more airflow mods, such as a tubular header, a larger downpipe, hogged out intakes. Weight will be your enemy.

That little downpipe is far from ideal.
No way in hell the stock clutch is getting you anywhere near 7's.
Why so much head tq?

Yea im thinking the same on the clutch. I will hog out the upper intake and try to find a 3 inch DP soon. As far as the weight, Im not so worried. Car weighs 2850 without me in it ( thats with corbeau seats ).

I just hope it holds for about 3 passes. I will be able to purchase an upgraded one after christmas. ARP recommends 90ft/lbs with their oil and 120 with motor oil. I used motor oil. Also, a roller cam out of a 2.3 (that came out of a fox trunk car ), is it an upgrade from the stock TC cam ?

It's just a "ranger roller" cam...makes a little more tq and a little less hp than a (new) tc cam...all the tc cams I've seen are worn out though so their performance drops because of it. Neither is a "performance" cam.

Thanks for the info man. I will be a very small upgrade from my cam. You can catch your finger nail on the edges of the lobes on my old cam ha...

I will be finishing up the motor this weekend, and hopefully getting it back into the car by sat. night. Maybe have it running by sunday evening. Seeing as I don't have but 2 weeks to get the car running and tuned before the shootout.
Any advice on some more weight reduction other than any interior parts ( except for sound deadening material, I have alread taken care of that ) ?

Will you have a cage and this be a track only car? If so you may could remove the bumpers front and rear, a/c system, stereo, window glass and motors and frames...

Na this is daily driver. It has to keep full interior, exhaust, and internals of the engine have to be stock.
I posted a link to the rules for street class at the top of this thread if anyone wants to look at them in more detail.

You won't go 10's in a TC on stock rods...at least not more than a time or two (if you're lucky).

You won't go 10's in a TC on stock rods...at least not more than a time or two (if you're lucky). I completely agree. I don't plan on the car running 10's until after christmas. Right now with the current setup I just want to run 7.5's-7.0's in the eighth. The santa clause shootout (SCSO) is an eighth mile track. So im just focusing on what I have to work with at the moment. On another note I may be shipping you a stock elbow core so I can purchase a 3" one from you. I will find out tomorrow.

Make sure it's a T3 elbow, not an IHI elbow.
7.0 in the 1/8th is a 10.95-11.05ish 1/4 mile pass...
