If it is an IHI, it will say Ishi-Warner on the compressor housing. If it is a Garrett, it will either say that, or AiResearch on it. Stock T3's also have an M24 cast into the compressor housing. $25 for an IHI is a good deal, they bring over $100 on eBay normally.

How would I tell if its a: T3/T4 Hybrid T04E 46 trim (25PSI) or T3/T4 Hybrid T04E 50 trim (35PSI) PSI # Going by what you said on Stinger-P.com

Looking for excessive smoke, an uneven sound when cranking, knocking sounds when idling, bubbling coolant, massive oil leaks, etc. could be signs of abuse. Ultimately though, I'd say the character of the owner will tell you more than anything, as well as the condition of the rest of the car. Almost all engines have been beat on at one point or another, doesn't hurt them unless the tune is pretty bad.
There is no easy way to tell the "trim" of the turbo aside from pulling the compressor housing off and measuring the wheel. One indication that it is not a stock turbo is if the compressor inlet from the air meter is straight, not bent towards the passenger side at a 45 degree angle (the aluminum inlet itself, not the rubber inlet hose).
