Bought a used Spearco intercooler off craigslist. Originally sold years ago for SVOs. Was missing some parts but were able to locate or fabricate ourselves. We also modified the brackets to sit higher for better ground clearance. Got a radiator fan off a mid '90s Taurus to provide more clearance for the intercooler. We had to trim the fan shroud and fab up some brackets to mount it. Car runs much better with the cooler air going in. Got better clamps, couplers, and dual piston blow off valve on the way from Stinger. What surprised me is no driveability issues going from top mount to this set up?

Here it is underneath. Its tucked up quite a bit higher then how the kit was designed. But we had to go with the Taurus fan and standard Mustang 2.3 overflow bottle to in order to raise it up. The SVO and Turbo Coupe overflow bottles are bigger and would not let the intercooler mount high like we have. We also added a bracket that goes through the intake scoop to prevent intercooler from going back if it does get whacked.

The cold side pipe will need to be modded in order to get the AC belt tensioner back on. Right now the pipe won't clear the tensioner. The SVOs did not have an AC belt tensioner on them.

Looks good. Looks like you got a little rubbing going on where the two pipes cross next to the IC right?

Yeah we need to do some adjustment when the new clamps and couplers come in. We did find out today that the AC tensioner will clear. When the AC belt is on it pulls the tensioner out of the way and the cold pipe and pulley clear each other by 1/2" or so.

Stinger blow off valve installed. Works great and does not mess with the VAM.

Even have the protectors on the clamps so you don't cut yourself up trying to work on it
