Huber actually makes about 790 at the wheels and runs about 40psi. While Stangman is currently down on power, he's in the 20's for boost. More boost = more power (probably 30-35hp per psi or so for his setup) = quicker times.

There are a couple differences in Hubers car and mine.
I am not totally sure on the weight but am pretty sure Huber is over 3000lbs. I am at 2601 right now.
On my 9 second pass, I was probably at 560+ rwhp at 29psi at 8100rpm. When I shifted the car never pulled back into the 7000+ rpm range so for over 1/2 track I was making less than 500hp.
I am currently working on my new convertor, which will help my 60' time. I am also going to switch from a 4.10 gear to 4.56 ratio along with adding about 300 more rpm up top.
I am going to add about 5lbs more boost to a total of 34psi. I should be in the 710hp range and with the improved 60ft, I think I can do it......maybe. lol

What do you have done as far as weight reduction? Do the tubular k member yet?

What do you have done as far as weight reduction? Do the tubular k member yet? It's an all out race car, it's a long ways beyond upgrading to a tubular k-member. Everything on this car is tubular, full cage, there is no interior, etc.

I see some people strip the interior, cage, tubular control arms on the rear, and say that "everythings tubular" but still have the stock k member. Why anyone would put all that work into it and NOT use a tubular k member, I don't know. I guess some people find it more challenging than any of the other mods.

Probably should take a MUCH closer look at this guys setup. Isnt a whole bunch left to do to a car other than work out more ET and crank it up.
Usually people that say "only 8's" in reference to the 1/4 mile have never been 8's in the 1/8 mile.

I'm not saying 8s are slow by any means, just saying that huber had almost twice the power, yet is only running a second faster.

I'm not saying 8s are slow by any means, just saying that huber had almost twice the power, yet is only running a second faster. If and when I run in the 8 second zone, I will let you know my power level, which will probably be in the lower 700's....I hope. The big difference between Hubers and mine is his is a street car, mine is a dedicated drag car. If I ran the weight he did I could not run this fast at my power level. Next time to the track, I am looking for my first 5 second 8th mile passes, how far into the 5's, unsure yet, how fast in the quarter, unsure as well...but know, one way or another, I will reach the 8 second zone someday with an actual 2.3 liter Ford!

I'm not saying 8s are slow by any means, just saying that huber had almost twice the power, yet is only running a second faster. Which shows how hard it is to go "just a second" faster. You realize it takes a much larger power gain to go from 9's to 8's than it does 10's to 9's right? It's not like you go 13's, add 50hp and go 12's, add 50hp and go 11's, add 50hp, go 10's, etc. all the way down to the 4's (top fuel). As an example...a 2500hp Pro Stock car goes low 6's and yet it takes triple that power *8000+hp) to go low 4's (top fuel) in a vehicle that's much lighter.
