Yes I am putting a 87 2.3T turbo coupe motor in a 79 mustang... Im keeping my old four speed manuel trans on the new motor though... I bought a new wiring harness form the deal zone for the 87 2.3t motor but have ben having a litttle trouble doing so... LIKE, what do i hook the vehicle speed sensor to, do I need to run a boost control solenoid or not, where should I put the computer inside the car.... And has the ever been done? Thanks

You don't have to run a VSS, the stock one is in the T5 transmission tailhousing. You don't need to run the boost solenoid. Stock computer is behind the passenger side kick panel, under the passenger seat wouldn't be a bad place either.
I don't know of anyone that has done it with a detail zone harness.

Any of the stock turbo harnesses (specifically early TC or Merkur), or an 87-90 2.3 Mustang harness. All of them would require a little modification when going into a 79.

I used a 90 wiring harness and mod. it to a 88 tbird coupe. I have a 79 and switched mine to fuel injected

Either method will work, it's just a matter of what you want to spend and how you want to do it.

I yanked a harness out of a 89 2.3 stang in the junk yard (50 bucks) used it for my 84's 2.3t swap and I am also fuel injected. I stuck the computer behind the passenger kick panel. I didn't really have any trouble but i couldn't tell you how to save the a/c or power steering because i decided not to use ether. The only thing that threw me off a bit was how set up my 84's factory gauges to work, but it wasn't to hard to figure out. Good luck on your swap
