Hi, my name is Tammy...I have a 2.3 that I wanna put an SVO turbo engine in. I believe I have everything I need. I have the computer that came with the SVO engine and the wiring harness from the distributor seems to plug right up. My question is "Am I forgetting anything?" Anxious to get her running-SVO is disconnected and the chains are ready to pull it out. Just feel like I'm missing something..
..As to the year-it's a 93...As to what's wrong with the SVO-body is trashed-actually is coming out of a 84-86 Merker...As to the down pipe and the injectors that match the computer-I got 'em. I do have concerns as to whether or not I will be able to change it from TFI to coil and if the wiring harnesses are gonna match-??
Computer is from 88 T.Bird Coupe-2.3 Turbo motor (LB3) correct SVO computer is a LA3, the LB3 computer was from a 88 T.Bird Turbo Coup with an automatic Trans. My 93 2.3 N. aspirated is a built 93 LX auto transmission. A friend who fools with 2.3 Turbos says he saw a wiring diagram to add a toggle switch(on/off) to use the more aggressive fuel maps and timing for the LB3-88 T.Bird Turbo coupe ECM (Jumper) on ECM connector to accomplish this Lo octane/Hi octane mode.
Motor is a 2.3 Turbo from 84-85 Merker, green( 30lb. per hour low impedance) injectors. *This motor was taken out of the Merker years ago and was placed inside a Pinto, that I had intended to set up for the track, but it never happened-the engine has never been cranked.)
The VAM (Vane Air Meter) is from 88 T. Bird Turbo coupe. How is this VAM wired to my '93 LX Coupe 2.3 non-aspirated, coil pack, duel plug head....Eliminate this coil pack???
SPECIAL NOTE TO STINGER: I am curious about the bamafuel computer you spoke of...this is new to me and I don't like not knowing about something...could you please educate me as to what this computer is capable of?
