Hey,
Finally getting around to getting this Merkur up and running sort of...
Ive gone through a lot of the stickies to verify everything i could think of from Fuel, AFR, and Spark tables.
Timing has been fixed to 20 and i rotated the distributor to make it read correct on the pulley.
Im idling right around 14 but within minutes my header is glowing red, and im quite confused at to why at this point.
Setup:
80lb siemens injectors, t3/t4 mounted on stinger header, rs500 style intercooler, large roller cam, engine bored out, rotated and gutter upper intake, ported lower intake, kind of all the usual!
Any ideas or suggestions?

Attached the current tune if someone wanted to look at it?

Glowing at idle either means the timing is way off (did you turn it back to "use table" after setting the distributor location?), or the fuel is way off.
What wideband are you using? Does the gauge match the gauge in TunerStudio?

Using AEM Eugo wideband, and its matching up in tunerstudio. Did turn it back to use table as well, Im going to pull the timing belt off I think and start over from there, thinking maybe my cam timing is off.

Ok, Timing has been completely re-done and quadruple checked. Car is idling perfect, right around 14 AFR. But this header is still heating up! Any ideas here? Im at a complete loss at the moment, just does not make sense?

Did you verify what timing at idle is when using the table and reading timing with a timing light?

Yes, set fixed timing to 20, and rotated distributor to match on the pulley, and then back to Use Table of course.

I meant verify proper timing after going back to "use table".

Have not verified that yet as it heats up very fast and dont need to crack this header(again)
Thought i had while working today was maybe i was off on my timing because i was looking at my Esslinger pulley and getting it to line up to the right of the TDC mark for timing, after searching for photo's of a stock cover it looks like that would be backwards??
Working on that assumption the closer i got it to the left of TDC the worse the car ran, and that header got hot real fast, maybe im rotating distributor too much?

In the image above, the arrow where #3 is pointing is the timing mark on the pulley and it's lined up with TDC in the pic. 10* BTDC would be the mark roughly 1/2" up/left of TDC. This is where timing should be set. I'm not sure how you're setting timing but I'm almost certain it's wrong.

Timing has got to be wrong. I had mine all out of whack and the thing still ran, all be it very poorly. Fixed my timing with the string method and fixed my glowing header problem. I must say though, Stinger's header turns a beautiful shade of orange. Lol

Im going to have to go for a dig through some junk yards to try to find some stock covers, as it sits i have nothing so my method to line it up
Crank - Pulled the pulley off and lined up with marks
Cam - (esslinger adjustable) Set to 0, and using photo of a stock pulley with marks counted teeth from the keyway to line up with a string. Even pulled the valve cover off to make sure cam was where it should be.
distributor- Lined up to #1 spark plug, and of course have tried adjusting from there.

Alright back to this car again, keep getting busy at work and never get around to working on it. Dumb question but with my Esslinger Crank pulley to get to 10 BTDC,am i looking at the mark to the left or right of the TDC mark on the pulley, in theory it would be the right with the pointer moved to other side of pulley and i pass that 10 degree part before i get to TDC on the pulley??

The timing marks relative to the pointer will never changer regardless of the side they are on. You can call Esslinger and ask for clarification though since they made the pulley/marks.
