Started my '86 SVO build a while back. I bought this car about 2 years ago, after searching for an SVO mustang for almost 4 years, I found one in Shawnee after taking a wrong turn and finding this '86 sitting in a driveway. I bought it almost a year later and thats the long story short. I am the 3rd owner and the car was bought new in MO (lees summit if i remember correctly, or Liberty) it has sat alot, with no body rust, just light surface rust here and there underneath. The car was mostly stock, but had a cone filter, boost control valve, and FPR. Ran okay after doing some maintenance, i drove it off and on, it started smoking, and lost all guts it ever had. After a leak down test cyl. 2 and 3 were dead and leaking 90% past the rings. So the build began. Many thanks goes to shannon for being such a help since I was new to 4cyl turbo fords and I have always a a modular mustang or 5.0 fox. The build is a follows. Stinger FMIC Stinger 3" down and mid going to a dynomax dumped gillis BCV Paxton FPR Stinger PiMP ported/gutted intake walbro 255 pump e6 manifold Engine Stock crank Crower rods studded/ strapped main arp head studs ranger cam (for now) home port head race eng inc round tooth conversion / adj. cam gear probably missing some stuff, essentially the idea is to just get everything running smooth. the original idea was to reseal the engine and go from there, but I decided just to build around that idea while I was already into the car. Once we get it running and tuned, around tax season I am planning on doing a head and cam from bo and go from there.

Shannon,Finally found a dipstick tube, spent a while trying to make the one I had work like we talked about. Found one on SVOCOP. Sent the money a few days ago and still havent gotten a PM back on shipment. Right now, im in a struggle with these turbo bolts that have broken off flush. Tried everything and cant get them out. It has been putting me on edge considering I am very close to just having to assemble and go.

Looks good!
Which turbo bolts are broke? If the ones that aren't broke are evenly spaced, you may actually be OK bolting it on with just the 3 bolts. Not ideal but could get you by until you outgrow the turbo.

3 of the five are broken. The two across from each other are not. I'll try and post a picture later.

Figured I should update this, that way it does not look like another 2.3T project that was given up on.
Car has been down since getting it back up and running last summer (Due to mods, not to being broken) I am still waiting on the cylinder head to come back, which should be any day now.
What the car was:
Rebuilt block, crower rods, stock pistons/crank, arp studded/strapped main caps, arp head studs, gutted/ knife edge intake, stinger FMIC, e6 manifold, t3, stinger 3" exhaust, PI.M.P ECU, stock head w/ RR cam, race eng. round tooth conversion, 3g alternator conversion, stinger catch can mod, Aeromotive FPR, walbro 255
New additions: fully ported Iron D port head, solid roller conversion, with schneider custom grind cam, big valve, cc'd and flowbench (All work done by Tim O on turboford) Garrett GT3076r .63ar w/ 5 bolt ford hot side. dual ball bearing/ water cooled Bo-port center mount header tial 38mm wastegate stinger oil feed line 80lb high imp injectors 95 mustang GT throttle body 90 rotated intake flaming river manual rack, steeda manual bumpsteer kit, maximum motorsport steering shaft and obviously re-doing the entire tune on the car and getting it running on the new setup
need to figure out: new clutch/flywheel, when will i shatter the t5, and when will i shatter the 7.5 rear end.
still need to do, no specific order: upper/lower rear control arms, sn95 front control arms (SVO ball joints are shot) caster camber plates, shifter, cable, quadrant, lowering springs, set up 2 step, reconfigure jumpers, new engine harness, eletronic boost controller, new fan, and a radiator.

The 7.5 will probably be OK until you get a "real" tire that can hook up better than normal street tires.

I guess there is only one way to find out. Hopefully I can get the car running and tuned within the next couple of months. Then do the rest of the suspension and take it to the track.

Unfortunately, I can not see the images you uploaded. They are not opening from my side.
