I am pretty sure the ircm on my car is fried. It costs over $100. Has anyone modified or repaired one?

It is just 4 relays in a box. It can be repaired by someone "in the know" or you can remove it and use individual relays...or get one in a junkyard for cheap.

Just a basic 5 pole relay. They are 1" square with 5 posts coming off of them.

Thanks this is a big help. I didn't want to go to ford and get a new one. Do you know if the ground for the ircm was on the case?

I cracked mine open and yes it has a case ground. This is where my problem was. I disconnected it and that is how it fried.
