I have been upgrading on my 2.3 for almost 3 years. I bought a 3" down pipe from you and went 3" to the rear with a cat. I have a fresh engine with about 20,000 miles on it now. It has a Racer Walsh roller top and a T-3. I bought a gutted ported 40bob intake with a 75mm TB. I'd like to go MAF with larger injectors and I am looking for some tuning advice. Thanks & Good Luck with the Site Mike C

Do you have a wideband 02 meter or just an a/f gauge? You'll need a wideband meter. To be honest, there isn't any easy way for me to say "do this and it will run fine". The mass-air swap takes a lot of research on your part so you have the knowledge required to do everything "right". I can point you in the right direction though. You'll need to get the actual tuning items from www.moates.net (J3 adapter chip, burner, burn software). You'll need to join the 2.3 tuner group on yahoo: autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/2point3TurboTuner/ for mass-air specific files and information. A lot of the same guys are also on turboford.net so there is a ton of information available in a search on their as well. Most of the mass-air stuff is being used with LA3 ecu's but there are PE guys out there as well. The most economical way to do it is to sell the PE for a couple hundred, then pick up an L-series ecu and use the rest of the profit to buy the chip items mentioned above. I'll create a sticky thread about this at some point when I have time to gather the information.

I could I suppose. I've never had a time when a "stock" fuel/timing map wouldn't start the car though, regardless of the mods (as long as the injector size is plugged into the bin correctly). I suppose the starter files could be used for the maf mods though.
The main problem there, is that the TunerPro bin files aren't compatible with the EEC-Tuner/J3/PCMX setups. I'll think about it. I've only got 70 or 80 bin files personally.

Yes, that is what it is intended to do.

There should be a ton of information available about those particular products on the Moates forum. I've never used the jaybird, only the F3, a chip burner, and burning software. A wideband can be used if you have a wideband meter, I don't believe there is any way to get the F3 to read the wideband output directly. You just clean the diagnostic port on the ecu and slide it on to "hook it up".
