Put it in the factory location for a small amount of time...one or two short pulls shouldn't overheat the sensor.

problem fixed. swapped out vams last night, and as it would turn out i had my bpv in backwards so it was leaking pressure instead of relieving it . anyway im going to run it on the other vam just to be sure it wasnt the problem as soon as the rain stops. but since it ran on 2 other cars before this one im certain it is ok. thank you for all of your help and insight!

I had a problem a lot like yours. It ended up being the air filter. You checked the air filter right.
