I am wondering what others have done to mount an ACT sensor in an early intake? Have you drilled and tapped a spot near the upper and lower intake? Have pictures of your ACT sensor location and insight on a good location and mounting ingenuity?

Ideally you don't put it in the intake as that location is above the engine and will heat soak, as mentioned in your other thread. If you don't have an intercooler though (I don't know if you do or not but your car doesn't in stock form) then you don't really have much of a choice since every post-turbo option is above the engine. In that case you just drill a hole in the intake and insert the ACT. Makes no difference where it is, sensor just has to be in the path of airflow.

Yes..I have a fully stock 85 T bird SC engine, no intercooler. Looks like the only spot in the intake I have is the knock sensor right below the flange for the lower intake and upper intake, which would be a great location, but I am thinking the knock sensor is a blind hole and would not allow the ACT sensor to protrude into air flow. And the pimpx deletes the knock sensor am I correct? Anyhow, I was wondering if others battled this problem and did some alteration of sorts to fit the ACT.

The knock sensor is a blind hole, as you stated.
This isn't nearly as complicated as it seems. It doesn't have to go in a location where there is already a hole or flange. You can literally drill a hole anywhere in the intake that's not more than 3/4" thick, tap it, and thread in the ACT.

Okay. Yes..that sounds straight forward enough, I will be looking into a strategic spot for sure, thanks.

Not trying to hijack the thread but what would you use to put it in the intercooler piping I’m moving mine to there from the intake

Or possibly in the front mount itself?

You'll have to weld a threaded bung to the tubing or intercooler end tank, then you just screw the sensor in place.
