Hi guys Got my Spartan 2, and the instructions say, 12V power should only be provided when engine is running. I'm installing in a 86 SVO, so it came with a single wire O2.
Any thoughts where the best place to pull power from ?
My first thought was, maybe fuel pump relay ? It gets power for 3 secs on key-on, but that might not be too bad.
Thanks

Anywhere that is 12v whenever the key is on is good. There are quite a few of these in the fuse box.

If key on engine off is fine, it's not a problem. It was engine running that had me guessing.

It has to be powered whenever the key is on, both engine running and not running. No power at any point means the sensor is off.

I am upgrading my narrowband sensor to a wideband, using the Spartan 2 controller. Pin 29 on the EEC currently is connected to the narrowband signal wire. 3 questions: 1. Does the Spartan 2 output GREEN WIRE connect to pin 29? 2. Do I then just disconnect the narrowband signal wire? 3. Does the Spartan 2 BLACK GROUND WIRE go to EGO GND Pin 49 or the CASE GND on Pin 20?
Thanks.

The narrowband sensor is no longer used so do whatever you want with it (other than leave it connected).
Spartan 2 Wideband in 86-93 Mustang: 3 wires are available at the stock o2 connector. Wire colors: Spartan Color → Harness Color → Wire Purpose Red 12v → Grey/Yellow → Keyed 12v Power Green Signal Out → GRN/PPL or Grey/Lt Blu → Pin 29 Signal Black Signal GND → Tie to same wire as HTR GND (or tee direct to ECU at Pin 46 or 20) White HTR GND → BLK/Lt GRN or BLK/WHT → Tee to Pin 40/60 (Power Ground)

Thanks Shannon that helped. What do I need to do before I can successfully autotune the engine?

I can't answer that for you. I'd suggest starting by reading the "how to tune" sticky thread for your ECU though.
