So my XR has got me stumped... It seems to be idling just fine and revs good up to 3k where it starts to brake up and spit flames, misfiring, and all that good stuff.. Whether I rev it up in neutral or while driving it will not go past 3k. 2.3l ford MS2/extra not a pimp (sorry I got this car before I knew about stinger) Innovate Wide band, 255lb walboro intake fuel pump, HX35 with your style of header reinforced welds... Not sure what else you would like to know but any help is appreciated... Please and thank you... not sure if I can post my .msq and .msl here...

Moved to the not-PiMP section.
Post your tune and a datalog of this problem. Don't make it a 10 minute log.

You don't have a wideband 02 setup connected? Hard to do any tuning without a wideband.
You've got very little vacuum, what cam?
Your timing advance table looks like it's for a modern high compression engine.
Your AFR target table is too lean under boost, too rich at cruise.

The wideband is wired to the ECU? It's not showing up in the log is why I ask.
I didn't say to check vac lines, I asked what cam to verify whether your vac readings are as-expected or not.

Sorry... Yes it is wired to the ecu but if you are not seeing it then obviously something is wrong... How can I go about checking that in TunerStudio?? I have the ranger roller cam and rockers... Thanks again..

Are you able to see the wideband AFR in TunerStudio?
Is your project set up for a wideband?
Are you positive cam timing is not off a tooth? That's about how much vacuum you get when that's the case. You'd have to have a HUGE vacuum leak to cut vacuum in half.

I swear the cam timing is spot on but I could just be missing something... This is my first go at sohc motor so it could very well be a tooth off but. I have #1 at TDC, the rotor pointing at 4-4:30 and just right of the dizzy screw, the cam gear that is painted lines right up with the center bolts of the cam gear and auxiliary shaft sprocket bolt... But I could still be missing something...

Are you using a straight edge to verify cam timing lines up or are you eyeballing it?

Yes I am... Using the dipstick actually and it is straight...

Well, you can certainly check for vacuum leaks but I'd expect one this large to be very loud. Other possibility is the MAP not using the right calibration but I have no input on that since I don't know what you're using.

Ok... So where in the log file to I look to see where there should be the Wide-band info that you are not seeing??

If it's not getting to the ECU then it literally doesn't exist in the datalog. It can't record a channel that doesn't exist.
First you need to get it where you can see the wideband AFR in TunerStudio by making sure the project is set up for a wideband, and that your wideband is wired to the right location in the ECU. Then you view the air/fuel gauge in TunerStudio.

I have made sure the project is setup for wideband and i can see the AFR gauge in Tunerstudio... I will make another datalog tomorrow... I also found that my alternator is not grounded at all... could this be causing as issue.. I am also going to reset the timing again before datalogging tomorrow.. Thanks again for all the help.,..
