You need to WRITE your tune to all 8 tune positions on the QH.

Thanks svojohn for the help on tuning the LA3 today! Im having trouble with my homeade boost controller (valve off of a gas torch), im only getting about 9 psi and when i make the slightest adjustment it overboosts bad so its def not made for small increments. I went ahead and started tuning with it at 9psi and a couple of pulls later and achieving a safe AFR, all I can say is wow im pretty sure it will make a 13sec 1/4 mile like it sits. I will try to post a video up before friday.

nvm....
Good job on the tuning though!!! How "user friendly" was the QH?

I would say it is very user friendly if you have decent experience with microsoft excel. I havent used it to its full advantange yet, but you can def get a precision tune with it.

Quick Update: I borrowed a boost controller from a buddy ( a real one with a ball and spring ) and got the car to hold at 15psi last night and also installed 42# injectors. I didnt get to do much tuning last night, but I can say that i did a second gear pull and it yanked hard enough to bottom out the right rear strut ha....
Im going to start a new thread in the members ride section. Video is coming soon!

Any recent progress with your tuning? I'm looking forward to using Quarter Horse so I've been following your progress closely!

Well so far i have blown the head gakest since i last posted here and fixed that, and am now back to tuning again.
I have the car at 15 psi at the moment and im going to do some pulls tomorrow if it doesnt rain again. Only problem im having is the car is surging in 3rd gear under full throttle and the boost gauge goes back and forth from like 10 to 17 psi then smooths out to 15 at 4000 rpm. Its weird because it doesnt do it in 2nd or 4th...

Sounds like a bad cell or two in your fuel table causing it to misfire or something at that specific load (because load changes in each gear).

Update: I have found that my wastegate was causing all of my problems. I have replaced it with a single port off of a subaru wrx. Car is running much better. It is hitting 18 psi at 2900 rpm and holding steady through the rpm range. My afr is showing 10.0 through the whole pull so I will head out tom morning to lean the tune out a bit.
I was wondering if there is any other parameters in BE to use for tuning other than the WOT Pulsewidth Multiplier? I know svojohn told me once before, but is 1.35 about the max input for the WOT PM chart?

The base fuel table is another means of controlling the fuel, particularly anywhere where you aren't WOT.

The base fuel table will allow me to adjust the fuel flow at part throttle correct? If so this would be where I would tune to help gas mileage right?

I just went out and made a few pulls. At 18 psi and a AFR of 11.5 it seems to be pulling pretty strong in 3rd gear (tuning gear). In 2nd gear it doesnt seem to pull as hard, but the AFR is the same( give or take .1). Also I know that 1st gear is way to short to cause enough load to make any power, but it also seems very sluggish a lot slower that 2nd gear does. I have not changed my base timing from 10*.
Also I have tried to log my horsepower and torque on BE by doing what the requirments were. It logs everything else except for HP and TQ. Any ideas on what to do to make it log hp and tq?
