I've swapped a 2.3t Thunderbird motor into my 4wd ranger with a Ron's wiring harness, PIMPx and a 5speed. Lots of tasteful aftermarket upgrades. Now my question(s), Is the stock boost control solenoid 100% necessary? And if so, how do I jump in a manual boost controller? Also a side question, is the fuel pressure regulator (rail mounted) the same as the 5.0 fords? I cant seem to source one specifically for the 2.3t. Thank you to anyone with some directions or answers!!!

The BCS isn't required. You replace it with the manual controller. The "bottom" port of the boost controller goes to the boost pressure nipple on the turbo outlet and the "side" port goes to the wastegate, the port closer to the turbo/header in the pic above. The port on the end of the wastegate stays open, don't plug it.
Regulator is the same as 5.0's.
