Kind of a rookie gear head question- what kind of wear should I expect out of fully hardened valve seats?
I had them installed by a local machinist, and provided the seats that I bought from boport. Upon tear down, 20k(?) miles later, the seats had recessed on one side. There is a visible ridge and .025 difference from one end of the seat face to the other.
Would it be likely that a set of fully hardened valve seats would wear like that due to side loading, or is it more likely that my machinist didn’t install them and billed me for the work anyway?
I suspected side loading of the valve train from the cam, but the manufacturer checked it out, and the cam was perfect.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If hardened seats are installed then you should be able to visibly see this is the case.
It's certainly not "normal" wear as they should be more durable than the stock surface hardened seat and those went 100k+ without issue.
I'd likely take some good clear pics and contact Bo for his opinion.
