Hello, I will installing an adjustable cam gear in the near future. Is it worth converting to round tooth? Or is not that much more worth it for the amount of work. Thanks

Also, when advancing/retarding the cam, does ignition timing need to be adjusted? Thank you

It's supposed to have less parasitic losses and have greater holding power. Whether these are measurable differences or not I cannot say. Ford went to round tooth in the Mid 90's and I can't imagine they did so for no reason.
Cam timing and ignition timing are unrelated as far as setting base timing is concerned. The engine may have slightly different ignition timing requirements based on cam timing but it's well into the "fine tuning" range at that point and has nothing to do with setting the timing via the distributor.
