I have a 1986 SVO with 130,000-ish miles. It ran well for a while, but has developed an issue. When cold, the car ran great, but when warmed up, it would go flat when trying to give it throttle. In the last day or two, it seems to do it at colder temps as well. Here are the items I’ve replaced (not all connected to this issue): * cap, rotor, wires, (gapped) plugs. All Motorcraft. * TFI module. Motorcraft and relocated. * pulled 2 codes, both TPS related. TPS replaced with unit from Stinger. Properly set with voltmeter. *Cleaned throttle body and IAC. *Cleaned upper intake *Good air filter *Inspected intake tract. Intake hose has reinforcing wire, and I can’t collapse it by hand. Timing checked ok. Today, I ran a fuel pressure test, and seem to have a problem. I have around 36 psi at idle, and on deceleration, under high vacuum, I have around 40 psi. However, under throttle, I have the same 36 psi as idle, with no increase. Is this a regulator issue, or could it also be wiring/pump related? I’ve checked for vacuum leaks twice with carb spray, and haven’t found any yet. Thanks!

It could be the regulator or it could be the pump. Run the engine for a minute and then pull the vacuum line from the regulator and see if there is wet fuel in the hose or if it smells like fuel. If it doesn't have any signs of fuel I'd lean towards it being the pump. High flow pumps are basically the same price as stock replacement.
