After much consideration of the modification hassle of going to a header, and wanting to keep my operational A/C, I'm thinking of running my BoPorted E6 I have setting on the shelf. Still need to get it ceramic coated.
In the meantime, I'll also still be running the stock intercooler for a while sitting directly above the extreme heat of the turbo. Looking at the options of either a turbo blanket for the turbine housing, or also ceramic coating for the housing to reduce cooking the cooler from below. Cost seems to be relatively the same either way. Thought / recommendations on blanket vs ceramic...?
Other modes: - BoPort 2.1 Stage 3 head - ported intake (in process) - Base PIMP w/E85, 82lb injectors - 3" downpipe - By-pass valve

I'd have to imagine a blanket will hold in more heat but I have no data to back that up. A small fan mounted on top the IC blowing air down through it would also be quite effective.

A small fan mounted on top the IC blowing air down through it would also be quite effective. Already have a 5.2" SPAL fan coming from Summit.
