I started my project 4 years ago January. A few surgeries, a house fire etc later the project continues this spring.
During the time between April 2016 and July 2020 my 1990 Ranger project went from:
-Simple 88 TC powertrain rebuild and install with Stinger PimpX / expansion harness, Spartan WB and gauge, Clutch assy, FID injectors, intercooler piping and BOV to
-Change of plan to rollerized, transbraked C4, requiring a return of my unused clutch assy. No problem.
I'm thinking at this point I'm the customer that I've always hated.
- " " " to E85 with ~30 psi, requiring returning unused injectors for larger. No problem.
I know I am that guy now. Regretfully, I push on hoping there's hope for my decision making and emotional intelligence.
- A thousand questions about ignition between myself, Wes and Shannon led me (pre-CAS sales) to a crank trigger setup with D585 coils. Realization that my street driven truck would benefit from sequential (and less hassle wiring)....you guessed it: Change of plan to sequential and CAS. Returned the unused PimpX for a PimpXS, purchased the CAS and harness. No problem, 4 years later. Nice product that CAS, btw.
I'm fully embracing the fact that Stinger Performance Engineering has put up with my questions (I am a baby boomer, with many mid-5 second street car builds under my belt...so I know what I want, right? LOL) and subtly hope I'll just go away and leave them in peace. Nope. Shannon answered every email and helped me sort the concerns.
The plan is now approaching fruition- I'm down to a few tweaks of the piping, fabbing my WG dump, mounting my vacuum pump, wiring the CAS harness and finalizing everything before initial start-up.
Stinger has been more than great, and I appreciate all the patience and help. You guys have a customer for life (honestly, I'm probably going to wind up putting a 408 in it, LOL).
