The car went pig rich 10.1 when I got on it then once I hit around 4000k it went extremely lean. I was surprised the motor didn't blow it went to 17.1. I knew I was playing with fire but I wanted to see the numbers back then. Once I installed the pimp I saw the inj duty cycle maxing out so I went with the 42s

Ah, so a pretty typical stock ECU AFR curve (once you've maxed out the injectors). The pig rich was killing torque and the lean condition was hurting hp up top. Comparing the curves though, there is no point where power is anywhere close to the same (even at say 3500 rpm where the AFR should have been in a good range) so it was certainly still making a lot more power, regardless of the AFR differences.

Probably the best money I spent on the car. I mean just look at the torque lol

84 Ft LBS of torque is huge! Man I gotta put my car back together,ROLO thanks for posting this man! I wish the pimp was the only thing I changed but there were so many issues I had to get the basic combo right,Oh well maybe i'll switch back from the pimp to the LA2 and the VAM and see what the difference is.

While it makes me happy to see those #'s, the printout indicates that is UNCORRECTED data, but there was a 30 degree air temp difference. It was colder when you ran it with the PIMP so that is a decently large percentage of power right there. Turbos spool quicker when it cold, boost typically floats higher with a MBC when cold, and the factory pig rich condition at low speed is worse when Hot.
I am sure it picked up power, but I am willing to bet the actual gain was less than half what that graph shows. If my correction factor differes by more than 2% (and I am running corrected) I don't compare the 2 test sets.

I am running an electronic boost controller. But yeah the temps are pretty far off and I use uncorrected because of the dyno temp reading 100 degrees ambient temp and running any other setting would really throw off the dyno numbers. Those number were also with me driving 30 minutes to get to the shop and not letting it cool off before the dyno runs.

So, I did my pre and post PiMP dyno testing the other day and the results were very interesting. Stock '86 5.0 with off road pipe, flowmasters, pulleys, cold air and cobra manifold made a freak peak pull @223/287 but was more consistently making 217, after PiMP swap and tune, the power was the same although it ran through the pull almost a second faster! We totally expected there NOT to be any gains in power so that wasn't surprising. The awesome part so far is that the driveability and part throttle is outstanding!!!!! Before the A/F was a moving target and now it's rock solid. The idle is now stable and the car actually feels quick to me. I drive it at least 40 miles daily and have no issues other than some tune touch ups here and there. Now that it's fully dyno tuned I'll check my mileage against the previous 20mpg however I'm having trouble keeping my foot out of it to do so. I'm now ready to start throwing mods at the car and I'll be documenting the results here as ell as on my own page. Longtubes (possibly 180 degree headers) and electric fan are next followed by a mild built bottom end with cam, heads, intake and finally single turbo depending on my mood. I'm very impressed with this ecu so far and can't wait to start adding features and modifications without the need for burning chips to a slow, outdated processor. P.S. the weather conditions were too different for me to feel good about the dyno results as I truly feel there was an appreciable gain in power but it got soaked up in thick, humid air and high temperatures.
