I'm building a 68 MGB with a 88 turbo coupe motor, trans and insterment cluster. I was looking at the Mega Squirt/ Spartan2. It's a stock rebuilt motor, .15 over, 90 deg intake, header with external waste gate, 2.5 In front mounted intercooler. I don't want to go to crazy with this thing, just want it right. Just wanted to know if I can get rid of the VAM, does it have the relays, does it have outputs for my gauges? what turbo would I go with? Thanks! Kdog

Are you talking about the PiMPx (Megasquirt 3 based) with a harness or the MicroSquirt with PNP harness? Both delete the VAM and have relays/gauge outputs.

I'm sorry, the mini squirt, I don't plan on racing it or doing many more upgrades.

Yes to all of the questions.
Note you can't run stock low impedance injectors with the Microsquirt so you'll need to look at our 60lb units as well.
Turbo depends on power goals. If under 265hp at the wheels, the stock turbo is the best option.

OK, that doesn't really have anything to do with any of the info above.

It raises the turbo up higher, hope to use it ,the waste gate actuator is real tight to the fender well on the stock manifold

Also, I need to repair or replace the turbo anyway, 30 years in Michigan didn't do it any justice Would like something more efficient and up to date. wouldn't mind getting rid of the water lines either.

Using the header is fine but it doesn't change turbo requirements.
Rust on the outside of the turbo obviously doesn't hurt function but if you're wanting something new for aesthetic purposes, or just to eliminate water lines, expect to spend at least $650 for one that's not Chinese. I still can't suggest a turbo as I still don't know your power goals.

I bought a pimpx and turning software. What else do I need to make it work with my svo? I was told by email that this kit would get me up and running but now I see from this form that I need a wideband o2 and new injectors too. So what parts do I need exactly.

PiMPx doesn't require new injectors, though you'll likely max yours out rather quickly once the stock ECU/VAM is removed.
I don't know whether they gave you everything it comes with originally or not (USB drive, Cable, MAP hose, jumpers) so I can't say what you need, other than to say all of that stuff is required. If they already registered the software then you need the software license as well.
Wideband is also required. We sell the Spartan 2 wideband controller with sensor on our site with or without a gauge.
You'll need to actually create an account on this forum to view the PiMPx section.
