Which wiring harness would be the best to use? I have a f/I harness from a '87 4 cyl. And I also have the harness from the '88 T/C donor car.
Sorry for the stupid question but I suck at wiring (at least it seriously intimidates me) So I would like it to be as much plug and play if that is at all possible

What car is it going in? If its a mustang use the 87 harness it will be easier to ad the wires for the vam and move a few pins, than trying to make the 88tc harness work, there is a lot of extra stuff in a 87 88 TC harness that makes it not really desirable as a swap harness.

My first 2.3t swap was an 86 carb and it was interesting. First you will need to add a fuel pump relay and the fuel pump wiring back to the tank, that being said you will need a efi tank or an external fuel pump. There is more just take it one issue at a time and you will be fine.

There is a sticky thread at the top of the tech forum on TF covering this swap. I'd start there.

Thanks for the info. Now that the water season is coming to an end I want to get this project done and running.

you will need to swap the fuel level sender from the 86 tank to the 87 tank the 86 fuel gauge uses different ohm rating.
