Hi, I have a question in regards to leaking injectors. I recent purchased a 87 turbocoupe, car is near to mint conditions. The original owner said that the injectors were leaking under boost and that he changed the o'rings but with no luck they were still leaking. So when i bought the car, i changed the injectors to make sure that everything was going to be fine. WRONG, leaks again, I changed the fpr to see (i have a couple of 5.0L), no luck. I took everything out to inspect but again no luck...... Need advise please.
Thank! Dan!

Where are they leaking? Many old injectors will leak from the body of the injector. Look for an 1/8" hole in the plastic body of the injector, most of the time they leak around there and they leak all the time when running, not just under boost. They just leak "more" under boost because the pressure is higher.

I had a simmilar issue it was my headgasket . I had a cometic gasket though. I re-torqued it and problem went away. I also changed O-rings and my injectors were new. See if this helps.

The thing about this is there's no cracks on the plastic and o'rings are new!!!!!!! I'm really afraid to hurt the engine, and i don't even go on boost to make sure i don't break anything. Next question is that, right now i drive it with a modify automatic (original)with shift kit with bigger trans cooler.I have a modify C4 with transbrake and 3200 stall that i'm planning on using (was perfect on my 393w).Will it make anything to the computer?

I had a set of injectors that leaked between the seem where the metal and plastic part of the injectors met. This is definitely a safety issue, I wouldn't drive the car until it was fixed.

Is it possible that all of my 8 injectors are leaking (bought 4 on ebay and guest what: they all leaks) ?? 18psi of boost and leaking injectors=Grenading. I know that these engines are almost bullet proof if well adjusted, and i'm in the process to make a quick car with it.As soon as winter is gone i'll be on the strip.

maybe I skipped over it but where are they leaking?
Obviously you are seeing fuel puddle but I'm confused as the need to install new o-rings/replace injectors and they leak.
Due to me not having al ot to go on I'll throw a few things out there to check: 1st- Did the original orings accidentally stay up in the fuel rail 2nd-Are the injectors fully seated in both the fuel rail and the intake? 3rd- Did you apply any grease to the o-rings? this helps them slide in smooth and not twist on the install.

I've probably had 5 or 6 stock injectors that leaked. The odds of ALL of the injectors leaking is rare. All you need to do is stick your head down near it with a good light and a paper towel to wipe off the fuel so you can see where it is leaking from though. As I stated (and CraigB mentioned as well), they leak between the metal and plastic, from the 1/8" round hole in the injectors. There aren't any cracks or otherwise.
You need to be more concerned about it catching on fire from having fuel on the intake than you do about grenading the engine right now.

I'm sorry if sometime what i say is not clear (i'm from Quebec,Canada),But injector are not leaking like open faucet, they are actually dripping on the side. I checked with a dry towel, even with brake cleaner and what i can see is that it gets wet on the plastic. It looks like 2 of them are wet near the 1/8 hole and i can notice little cracks above these holes. 2 of the newer(rebuilt ones) have some kind of glue comming out in between the plastic and the metal!!!! 2 other newer ones look ok, but i took a caliper to measure the metal part that hold the top o'ring and it looks like there were put on a mill and material was taken off.I changed these's o'ring with ticker one,but no luck they leak again. I was able to make the 2 last ones to work with 2 new o'rings, but they have little cracks above the 1/8 hole. I have inspected fuel rail maybe 5 time to make sure that no o'ring material was stuck in the bungs.I used lubricant (don't tell my wife that i used the KY please),but no luck they were all pissing from the bungs. ? advise please!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the ones leaking from the side around the 1/8" hole are junk, they can't be fixed. I doubt if KY jelly is in Ford's list of approved o-ring lubricant but it should be fine. If the injectors have been on a mill, they aren't going to seal
