I'm looking for a 2.3t motor, don't care if it needs to be rebuilt if it goes for a good enough price.
2.3t valve cover, the one that actually says 2.3l turbo ford on it
I'll be adding more to this list later on, I'm building an '88 turbocoupe for a guy I work with as well as trying to afford a 2.3t into my 2.3 N/A mustang, so I'll be needing quite a bit.

Sorry for the late response, forgot I put this up here. Baltimore, MD.
Bought the motor and valve cover already, am looking for another valve cover though, as well as intake and exhaust manifolds, turbo, etc

Might just go with a local e3 manifold. Someone has one up on craigslist for $10 and being homeless, that fits my budget quite nicely. What kind of gains would I get by taking an e6 over the e3?

The E6 flows a lot better than the old E3.

I don't have numbers but maybe it's enough that people will pull an E3 to swap...

But when you're broke and the e6 costs 8-10x more used, and I plan on doing tubular headers in the future anyway...I'll probably end up with an e6 to start if I manage to get enough money to pull the whole motor out of the junkyard...
