So ive been reading the forum and figured you guys might be interested in my rx7
I bought it at the end of last summer as a pretty basic 2.3 swap its using the grannyspeedshop mount kit and TC 2.3 with t5 also had the ihi turbo at 15psi pretty basic it was running small intercooler and a radiator that was way to small for application. Fun car but i wanted more out of it and then it all began.
This is how i picked it up 87 rx7 4 lug base model no sunroof 70k on the body
Engine bay shot of how it was put together when i picked it up
The swap was really done cheaply but it ran good except i had cooling issues on long drives
I started working at a local shop and started ordering alot of parts and started with pulling the engine out
And shes out of here
Then started the wiring mess i was left with to clean up
Nothing was wrapped and loose and misc wires just laying around
come to find out its roller cam swapped
So at this point i figured why not pull the interior and gut the heater and blower motor since its gonna be a weekend car or eventually a track car
after cleaning up most the wiring i wanted to paint the engine bay
i like the way this bay looks with the rest of the car also i rattle canned the whole thing
I also wanted to completely redo the suspension since i didnt like the tokico springs/struts that were on it so i went with powerbymaxx coilovers
So then i dropped the rear subframe out cause i was doing derlin bushings and welding the diff
got the engine back in after going over it and replacing all the gaskets except for the headgasket
Around this time i bought a garrett t3 turbo for it its a .60/.48
this is the ihi turbo next to the new t3
installed it with the stinger performance t3 oil feed and return lines
this is the bay with mostly all things hooked up and the new FSR radiator inn
bought the ebay front facing turbo elbow and modified it to fit for my existing intercooler piping
This is where the car is at right now this has been progress over the past 5 months getting the car to be where im happy with it. Now its all finishing these up and making brackets for the intercooler and radiator. Hopefully will drive it for the first time in 5 months tomorrow
