Thanks for putting up with all the questions. Finally got all the bugs worked on the coupe and hit the track again last night. A couple weeks ago I was knocking on the 12 second door but couldn't get a clean run in. All the questions answered and help from Shannon and Wes netted me a 12.667 @ 112mph. There's still more in it with a touch more tuning and some driver mods but I'm hoping for a low 12/high 11 by next season. Again, thanks guys!!

That is some MPH for those times.
What tires? Get the 60 down to reasonable and you will not be far off your goals.

Yeah, just a 1.7 60' would get you a low 12 or high 11.

I'm trying hit 11's! LOL
Going to swap for a 2.95 first gear trans, drop tire pressure and raise the boost for next season. I also have a meth kit to install soon.

I hope you also plan to go to 4.10's or more in the rear as well, otherwise that 2.95 first will kill your chances. I've got one in my SVO with 4.10's and I think ideally it would have 4.3x rear gears.

Really? I find first gear to be damn near useless right now. Seems like I'm shifting right at 60' as it is now.
If I stay with the 3.35 trans, would staying on a 26" be good or switch up to a 28"?

Is this on street tires? Just going to slicks would change how long it takes before you shift because you won't be spinning so much.

I run on DR's.

You should be able to get a 1.7 on DR's...2.0 (like above) is a typical "good" launch on a street tire, though I've seen people get 1.7-1.9's on street tires before as well.
The issue is, once you get to too steep of a 1st gear, you'll get a bog after the initial hit when the engine just can't maintain rpm once the tires grab. I really don't think the 2.95 trans will help. I'd have a 3.35 in mine if I had one. Many people have went 11's on a stock 4 cyl trans with a 3.9-4.1 first gear. It actually helps the tires to hook up when the gear isn't as steep.

Thanks Stinger, what's your opinion on running a 26" vs 28" tire with my current combo?

The tire height has more to do with your rpm through the traps than the launch. Until you get some clean "ideal" type passes, it's hard to say what you'll need. Typically a 26x8 is plenty for 11's. 28's are a tight fit in the fenders and have a tendency to swell and drag the fender at high speeds if you don't have the ability to adjust the position of the rear tires in the fender opening.

Ok, I'll stick with my 26's for next season and get some more passes in. Thanks.
