A few of you might know me but figured what the hell..I take tons of pics
Started off as a 180k 5 speed 2.3t that didn't run and sat for 6 months..paid $500 for it as it sat.
The interior wasn't together
Exhaust was held together with this lol
The day I had it towed to my buddys shop..we had it running that night. Somehow the owner fouled out the plugs really badly. Tossed in some Motorcrafts and it fired right up.
Underneath wasnt too terrible for a New England car
Threw on Weld wheels..but wasnt crazy about the sketchy handling around corners and the look
Went to a catless 3" downpipe
Also 2.5 Dynomax Ultra Flos
Found somebody to trade the Welds for Cobra R reps...17X9 and 17X8..still that wheel gap thou
Oh yeah watch out for potholes in CT
Long dong stock sloppy shifter
PRO 5.0..much better
Gauges..Coolant temp/AEM wideband to use with the PIMP
SN95 A Pillar gauge pod Oil/Boost..I did straighten out that boost gauge
Threw in what I found were SN95 Tokicos..they did not last long also SN95s are a tiny bit longer than Fox body struts
Lowered it the wrong way
Walbro 255 HP from JDS performance..also threw in a Gillis valve around the same time
Drove it around the snow a bunch times...wasnt too terrible
Crap!!!
So I put in the pimp and things got fun
I soon learned how bad the TMIC really is thanks to see my data logs now sooo I threw in a Ranger Rad/Volvo FMIC
Before I hooked the fmic I noticed it was running really hot with the smaller rad..other TC guys never had an issue with the same setup. I chalked it up to my missing dam and semi mangled lower bumper..So I improvised for more airflow..
Never been a fan of chrome so..
I dont think it looks that bad..even though I might of pissed off a few hardcore Turbo Coupers
So my car runs much cooler now and now I feel better about running a FMIC..ordered Stingers piping/couple/clamp kit which fit very well..rattled can the pipes with high temp silver. Did I mention my stock alternator took a dump..So I ran a 95 AMP 3g with a 1 wire alt from a SN95. Also threw in a Megafuse to be safe
So as of right now im done..maybe injectors or something but thats most likely it for the year. It needs body work but still needs mechanical stuff to work out first. Its easily the most work ive ever put into a project car even though its nothing compared to some of you other guys. Thank to you everyone on the forums for helping me out..would have never gotten this far without the info your all willing to share. And thanks to Stinger and Wes for the support of the PIMP. Best investment on even a semi stock car hands down!
