So I now trying to figure out why the new Walbro 255LPH pump that installed into my SVO won't run.
I initially was trying to troubleshoot the original pump's failure, and after installing a new pump discovered that my problem was in the inertia switch. I have since cut the switch out of the car and have spliced the wires together. After I cut the switch out, the pump started and ran, I got the car running and warmed up and took her for a test drive. She was running great, except for the fact that I only had just under a 1/4 tank of fuel, everything was perfect. When i got back to my house, I went and got the fuel I had siphoned out of the car to drop the tank, and filled the tank back up. I went into the car and turn the key to the on position, just enough to see what the fuel level sat at after i refilled it. When i went out later to show my buddy that it was running, she wouldn't start. The fuel pump wasn't even turning on. If i went back to the tank and banged on it while my buddy worked the key back and forth from off to run, i would get enough fuel to in the line to get the car to run for a sec and then it would die.
Here is my thought: Did I potentially damage the pump by running it with low fuel in the tank and then adding the gas that had been sitting outside in 20-30* weather all day? Would the cold fuel hurt a fuel pump like that? Do these Walbro's have trouble in the cold weather? Is it normal for there to only be an average of 10.9v leaving the fuel pump relay when it is working?
Thanks for any help y'all can give
